If you make a turn on the next road, you’ll see the landmark that symbolizes what colonial Philly meant: the Liberty Bell. Now you may wonder why our Founding Fathers–as bright as they were–would ring such a cracked instrument, but no one knows: all of the records from that era are gone. Our best guess is that they broke it, found a new bell, but just never made the switch.
